From crocodiles lurking in rivers to all wildlife that frequent the water holes, water is a source of life and a backdrop for incredible wildlife moments. This section captures the beauty of creatures that depend on water—those that inhabit it, rely on it, or thrive along its edges. Through my lens, I explore the delicate balance of these ecosystems, celebrating the diverse species that call water their home and reminding us of its vital role in sustaining all life.

Fact: Climate change, deforestation, and human activity are shrinking Africa’s vital waterways, endangering ecosystems and millions who rely on them.

Zambezi River – Frequent droughts and floods threaten 40 million people, fish stocks, and Victoria Falls, while dams disrupt ecosystems. Kariba Dam is currently at 9.87%

Okavango Delta – Declining rainfall and rising temperatures reduce seasonal floods, endangering 1,000+ species, including elephants and hippos. (where the picture below was taken)

Wider Impact – 35% of wetlands lost, rivers drying, pollution rising, and water shortages increasing.

Without urgent conservation, these lifelines could disappear, leading to biodiversity collapse and human-wildlife conflict.
